BD Vacutainer Tubes for the analysis of trace elements have controlled amounts of trace elements. Maximum concentrations are defined for the trace elements antimony, arsenic, lead, chromium, iron, cadmium, calcium, copper, magnesium, manganese, mercury, selenium and zinc that could be extracted by blood from the tube itself or the stopper. Every production batch is checked and only released if the given maximum value is not exceeded. The values given take into account the use of a standard BD needle.
